After a four-year absence, Intertraffic 2022 – the world’s largest expo for traffic, parking and road management – opened its doors again to people from all over the world to witness the latest in traffic innovation.

Typically held every two years, it has been 4 years since the last Intertraffic because of the pandemic, but after the Netherlands removed its mask mandates the thought of Covid never entered our minds.

Nearly 23,000 people filed into the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre in Amsterdam to see innovations from 800 exhibitors in all areas of smart mobility, road safety, infrastructure and parking – even hologram technology – which was very cool.

Intertraffic gave us a glimpse into the very near future of traffic guidance. And right in the middle of it all was ParkHelp – leading the way in parking innovation.

ParkHelp’s Trade Show Booth

We were honored to be able to send 11 people to the conference, representing the United States, Brazil and Spain. We welcomed thousands of people to our booth, meeting face-to-face for the first time in what felt like an eternity.

The Netherlands lifted most of the Covid restrictions right before the conference, and there was a huge turnout of industry professionals from around the world. Most of the industry people we met were from Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Hopefully, we’ll be able to connect with more people from the U.S. at a future conference.

The capital of the Netherlands had plenty offer conference goers – great food, amazing art and architecture and nice people – the only thing that wasn’t very pleasant was the weather. It was cold and snowy – not real great for walking around the canals.

But, even with snowy conditions on Thursday and Friday, it warmed our hearts to see everyone. And we had plenty to show people.

We showcased several exciting new ParkHelp products, including the G5 Outdoor Wireless Sensor.

G5 Outdoor Wireless Sensors

g5 wireless outdoor sensor

Boasting the highest accuracy in the industry of any outdoor sensor, the new G5 Outdoor Wireless Sensor will revolutionize the parking guidance industry.

This fifth-generation sensor (hence the name G5) is a massive improvement over the previous model – the G4.

When it was released in 2020, the G4 was the first outdoor parking occupancy sensor to incorporate both electro-magnetic and micro-radar detection and employ built-in Bluetooth based Driver-ID.

With options for surface, in-ground and high-heat mounting applications, the G4 provides super accurate outdoor sensing, along with the ability to accurate identify drivers when they opt into Driver-ID.

The G5 takes outdoor parking occupancy sensors to the next level by adding a built-in cellular connection, making “no-infrastructure” installation finally possible. Sensors can be installed one-by-one in a matter of minutes and immediately connect with a cellular network.

They truly are next-generation tech.

Releasing later this year, and we plan to have the first G5 prototypes available at an upcoming event in July.
