Location: Barcelona or Tarragona (Spain), or Munich or Neukirch (Bodenseekreis) (Germany) — office-based with flexibility for occasional remote work

Reporting line: VP Engineering

Languages: Fluent English (C1+), written and spoken, is our only language requirement. Spanish and German are helpful, but not required

Role summary

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for a highly competent fullstack engineer, architect, and problem solver. You will design, build, and operate the highly available software platform that manages our globally-distributed network of IoT devices, and the web applications and APIs built on top of it.

We expect senior engineers to use AI tools to accelerate their work—not as a novelty, but as a core part of how they design, build, test, and ship.

Our core languages are .NET C# and Java. If you’re a top-notch engineer coming from another stack, we are language agnostic—we assume you’ll learn.

Our stack

  • Backend: .NET C# and Java
  • Database: PostgreSQL in scalable, high-availability clusters; Timescale for sharding
  • Frontend: React, with responsive design
  • Platform: Linux
  • CI/CD Pipeline
  • AI-assisted development across the engineering workflow

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate highly available web applications.
  • Build and evolve the high-availability platform managing our globally-distributed network of IoT devices.
  • Create, publish, and support APIs that third parties use to integrate with our platform.
  • Build a large number of diverse API integrations with the third parties we work with around the world.
  • Modernize legacy Java and .NET services onto current versions and patterns.
  • Architect solutions end-to-end and solve hard problems independently.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate development, testing, and delivery.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and teams distributed globally.
  • Be an active, effective participant in an agile scrum team.

What you bring (must-have)

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with strong fullstack capability.
  • A track record as a highly competent engineer, architect, and problem solver.
  • Deep backend experience in C#/.NET or Java—or top-notch engineering skills in another language with the ability to pick ours up quickly.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, ideally in scalable, high-availability configurations.
  • Frontend experience with React and responsive design.
  • Comfort working on Linux.
  • Experience creating, publishing, and supporting APIs for third-party integrators, and building integrations against diverse third-party APIs.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to accelerate your engineering work.
  • Independence in solving problems, and experience working with global teams.
  • Fluent English (C1+), written and spoken.

Preferred (nice-to-have)

  • Experience with Timescale or other time-series/sharded data architectures.
  • Experience managing and automating integrations with a wide variety of third parties.
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems onto current platforms.
  • Background in IoT, mobility, smart city, SaaS, or infrastructure-adjacent products.

What we offer

  • High-impact engineering role with direct influence on a globally deployed platform.
  • Competitive compensation.
  • Employee equity participation opportunities.
  • Flexible working and a high-trust, direct feedback culture.
