They count the number of vehicles that enter and exit the car park or each of the floor levels , taking into account the direction in which they move, thus knowing in real time the number of current free parking spaces.

When the system detects a vehicle driving inside the car park that hasn't yet parked, it automatically deducts one free parking space. Its design allows it to filter out the detection of people.
